This is my first attempt at imaging the horsehead nebula, so I am happy with the details captured. Considering its just under 5 hours worth of exposure and under light polluted skies, I was certainly not expecting to capture any of the dark dust under the nebula. I really want to capture this one with the ZWO next year!

That’s a great shot, well done!  Yall need to click on the image and look at it bigger.  It’s really foreboding I’m digging it!  What did you process your data in?  Stars look great too!

That’s going in the shot of the month page.  Only a day or so left people so get on it.

Nice Horsehead. Your title says rgb, did you use rgb filters on the Canon?

    Thanks all 🙂

It was processed in adobe photoshop with the astronomy tools action set. The canon is a OSC camera, so there is no need for the RGB filters – I just used the astronomik CLS filter. I would like to make a HaRGB composite image, but Orion is too far in the west unfortunately.

Its amazing what can be pulled out of these mirrors. I may just sell my refractor…
