No I’m afraid not.  I worked to bring together a shot today and found a quarter of my frames were soft or slightly out of focus.  It’s frustrating when you put so much time in to get those subs only to be slightly out of focus.

    We’re all human…. lol

I think you can do that with one of those add-ons in Photoshop.  I’ll take a look.

I love the image but I am a little worried that it may be slightly out of focus.  I could be wrong because I’m looking on such a small screen.

I managed to shoot the lagoon with the 294 before I sold it but now have to figure out how to process a bayer matrix i…[Read more]

You gotta show me how to do this.  It looks so cool.

Really love that Target.  The Ha data you get off of it is stunning.  Great work

Thanks I need to work on it at home where I can see it.  I’m so blind and this small mac laptop is hard to work with.  I cannot see the detail I need to see.

I forgot to pull a LUM channel and put it in.  Dolt!

But thanks Brian I appreciate it.

I did this at work on my little laptop this morning and will do it again on my main computer tonight, but wanted to get this out to share what the RC8 did on Merlotte 15

It’s actually the first of a two panel mosaic.

No you should not have to cut any USB cables.  Try to find you some short ones and just coil up the extra and hide it somewhere under a plate or the scope.

The power cables are what you cut if they have cigarette lighter adapters on the end, or you could just find some old power cables from something else as long as the center pin is positive…[Read more]

  • I just shot a close up of this target with my RC.  I hope it comes out half as good as this one.

  • Another killer image.  You’re eye has a haunting look to it that I love

I am using the sky guider pro with my polemaster attached.  However, it’s hard for me to squabble around on the ground working to find a target so I also picked up the Ioptron CEM25P.

That thing is a lot heavier than advertised so I’m trying to figure out something for the SGP.  I bought a green laser from a guy in the hopes that I could attach i…[Read more]

Got my travel rig finished.  I got a Williams Optics Zenith Star 73 with Willams Guide Scope and will use my Nikon D750 with STC Duo Narrowband Clip Filter

I also purchased the Williams Optics Redcat Scope.

I’m always going back and forth with my images.  Happy Thanksgiving

Wow Brian that is really beautiful.

Maybe its my Mac but bump the contrast a tiny bit and make it pop out more.

This is really a pretty image.  Well done.

That’s a perfect shot.  Everyone should click on it and look at it full size.

Are the closeup shots with the elongated stars from the corners of the shot?

    If not then,

All those stars going in the same direction and looking elongated is probably a guiding issue.

    I love the image though.

I’m really digging the starless thing.  I’ve got to try that.  It makes it look like a painting.  Really cool

  • Sean replied to the topic The Wizard in the forum Images 2 months, 1 week ago

I like the one with the OIII prominent a little better.  The new one is probably more what it really looks like though.

Do me a favor and take the first one and bump the contrast up a little and see what it looks like.

It’s not until Aug 17th.  plenty of time.

I’m actually rethinking the RedCat.  I have the zenith star 61 and it is a great scope as well.  I’m gonna go shoot Andromeda in a few and see how it does.

  • Sean replied to the topic The Cave Nebula in the forum Images 2 months, 3 weeks ago

That’s hilarious.  I love it.  I don’t see a cave either.  I shot that when I first started learning and probably need to do it a again.  I do remember that it was a difficult target.

What skies are you shooting in with that 1600?
