2nd attempt at RGB. I don’t recall,  it it was ~300 each at 20 seconds on my AT10”RC with ASI1600mm.

I am still, and was, learning PI. I could probably have processed this better…I don’t like how I over compensated on the core, better luck next Galaxy season. But anyways this is what I got.

3875490A-8129-4EA1-800E-C263A3538AA9this is my first try at Mono/RGB. I found it very difficult to do and I’m not sure if it’s because of the heavy light pollution here in LA??? I couldn’t get any exposure length, even at 20 seconds, my sky was blowing things up. I shot this with the ASI1600 on an Astrotech 10”RC.

Bi-Color NB. Shot on 11” RASA and ZWO1600mm. 2nd attempt at NB. This was 400 each Ha and O-III, 20 second subs, which is somewhat long for a RASA.

the main star in the image was 5-6 times larger and was basically a pix of my primary/secondary and wires. I used PS to remove and clone to replace. The RASA does do well with anything bright.

I have 2versions, the first was when I was still in the process of imaging, and I just wanted to see how it looked. So I didn’t spend much time in processing. I ended up really liking this version, but didn’t remember how I processed it. DAMN!

the 2nd is after I finished imaging. Still like it, but I like the color of the first much bet…[Read more]

Hey Mike, depending on your scope, there is so much opportunity in this region of some really great shots. This was my first in NB (this and the Eagle) and I’m amazed at the results. It’s definitely very forgiving of the guy behind the scope.

Hey Sean, they are amazing. I’ve had a problem with mine, worked a little on collimating it,  it it’s still off. I’ll give another try at it, I bought the Hotech Advanced Collimation Tool model at about $450. It’s nice,  it still difficult to do this scope. I spoke to Celestron, they charge $425 to do it. So it maybe going there to get it right.…[Read more]

i think the skies have just been soooo bad for soooo long. We started to get better skies, so I’ve been out. Seeing is not great, but I’m getting data.

Thanks Sean, I would have liked to have gotten more Ha, but my view of the sky is so limited. On my last night, I was only able to get 5 images.

Time For Galaxy Season, took down the WO and putting up the AT10RC.

    Of course clouds are back.

Ran an out of sky, so all I could get was some Ha. We finally had some clear nights, but I could only get ~8/night. This is 39×400 seconds with William Optics FLT132 with ZWO ASI1600MM.

    Hahahahahahaha.

Yesterday I sent someone a pix of the mountains, they are really green, of course that’ll turn into fuel this summer.

  • Brian replied to the topic Imaging in the forum Images 5 months, 2 weeks ago

Nope, I believe we have gotten more rain in the 1st 2 months of this year than we get in an entire year. Another storm coming in now. Well it makes the mountains nice and green, more fuel for the summer fires.

  • Very nice.

Great Sean, when do we get to see some images? Seems like the whole planet has been consumed in clouds for the last year.
